President's message
It is a profound honor that I step into the role of incoming President of the Zonta Club of Victoria for this 2026-2028 Biennium. As we embark on a new chapter, I am humbled by the legacy of leadership that precedes me and would like to express my deepest gratitude to our outgoing President, Helen Wong, for her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment over the past term. Her guidance has strengthened our foundation and set a high standard for us to follow. I also want to express my appreciation to the outgoing Board, the Committee Chairs, and every member whose passion, dedication and hard work are what turn vision into impact.
As we look ahead for this coming Biennium, our mission remains clear: “To advance the status of women and girls through services and advocacy”. We will continue to deepen our commitment to empower underprivileged women and girls by supporting projects which ensure women facing homelessness, domestic violence, social withdrawal or f inancial hardship have the resources, mentorship, education and vocational training to gain back their security, self-esteem as well as social and economic independence in order to reclaim their futures.
Mental health is a cornerstone of well-being, particularly for families raising children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Recent data shows that over 1 in 5 children in Hong Kong now have learning difficulties and special educational needs, yet support services remain stretched thin. In the year ahead, we will continue to shed the light on SEN children and their caregivers, who often experience isolation, stress, and emotional strain. We will work with different Non-Government Organization (NGO) or service providers by supporting programs which provide holistic support, mental wellness and therapy workshops for them in order to promote their resilience, inclusion, self-confidence, as well as mental and emotional well-being.
I also remain deeply committed to pursuing the vital issues of Climate Justice and Sustainability. We will advocate for gender-responsive solutions, champion projects that address climate change and sustainability, advocate environmental justice and ensure women’s voices are central in these efforts. In alignment with “Zonta Says NOW”, we will actively support gender-equal climate action, ensuring that women are empowered to lead and shape solutions for a sustainable future.
Furthermore, we will continue to nominate outstanding and distinguished women for Zonta International scholarships. By supporting their academic journeys and nurturing a vibrant alumni network, we will create lasting opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and growth that extend far beyond the scholarship years.
Since I joined our Zonta Club in 2013, I have been inspired by the wisdom, professionalism, dedication, and friendship of our members. The mentorship I have received has shaped my journey, and I look forward to nurturing that same spirit of collaboration as we move forward together.
As we begin this new chapter, I am filled with anticipation, excitement and determination. Let us walk hand in hand to strengthen our community, advocate for meaningful changes, and deliver projects that reflect Zonta’s mission and values.

INSTALLATION CEREMONY 2024
The Zonta Club of Victoria Installation 2024 was held on 29 May 2024. On this date, we had the honor to have Prof. Wei Shyy, former President of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to be our Guest of Honor, and Ms. Teresa Lin, Zonta International Director (2022-24) as our Installation Officer, to install the new board members and officials, honoring the incoming team and extending gratitude to the departing members. This gathering allowed members and visitors to reflect on the past achievements and plan future strategies to empower women and girls across Hong Kong.
