Holistic Support Program

Love 21 Foundation

The project beneficiaries were female carers or parents of individuals who have autism or Down Syndrome. Our sponsorship enabled Love 21 Foundation to run their music therapy classes, as well as well-being classes for parents and carers as part of their holistic support, providing them with some much-needed “me” time to reduce stress and restore energy. Our support proved particularly useful after a fire in January 2023 rendered their old center inoperable.

During the year from October 2022 to September 2023, more than 120 music therapy sessions and 200 classes for parental well-being were held. These classes included activities such as parental trampoline classes, yoga meditation, Tai Chi, and sound therapy. Over 50 Love 21 members participated in the music therapy sessions, with some members attending more than one course based on recommendations from the therapists. Additionally, more than 80 parents took part in the sessions.

Besides providing exercise classes for the female carers or parents, the parental classes also offered opportunities for them to build bonds with other families. Participants mingled well before and after classes, resulting in stronger support networks that helped them cope better during difficult times.
