Private Screening of documentary – To my nineteen year old self
Zonta Club of Victoria organized a private screening of a coming-of-age documentary “To my nineteen year old self” for the NGO community, family and friends of our club on 2 October 2022. Over 200 participants, including students and alumni from Ying Wa Girl’s School, of which the documentary featured, attended the private screening. Ms. Mabel Cheung, Director of the documentary was also invited to share her insights and experience.
Sparked by the demolition and reconstruction of its historic campus, Ying Wa Girls’ School embarked on a project to chronicle the transformation of its students through a profound lens. The documentary followed the life of a cohort of students, tracing their development and growth as they were navigating the highs and lows, joys and sorrows of adolescence amidst the rapidly changing Hong Kong society.

Visit to Teen’s Key
On 12 December 2022, our Club visited Teen’s Key, an NGO where safe space was provided to empower young women to gain the confidence they need to realize their potential and have the freedom to choose their future. The sharing session touched the hearts of many of the Zontians. We will not stop fighting for women rights and human rights.

International Women’s Day (IWD) – Zonta Rose Day
International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
On 8 March 2023, we celebrated Zonta Rose Day alongside IWD in Hong Kong. Our Club honored 9 fellow Zontians for their past and present contributions in the Civil Service at the Club’s monthly meeting.
On this special day, the donation from our Club and from every member was also made to Zonta Foundation of Women.

Sponsoring “Design a better future 2.0 initiative by Innotier”
Being the gold sponsor for the initiative, our Club has gathered interest from our NGO partners*. With our sponsorship, 100 youths could participate in a competition where they could design their own personalised crossbody bags for free and with the concept of “enroll one, donate one”. In addition, 100 antiviral masks were donated to the needy.
In this meaningful initiative, we were contributing to the goal of onboarding more of Hong Kong young people for environmental protection and to utilize Innotier’s anti-viral, reusable products.
*Our NGO partners included The Salvation Army, Chinese YMCA Kwun Tong Centre and Teen’s Key.
